Hawaiian Consul General

Having tendered to His Majesty the King of Hawaii my resignation of the office of Consul General at Hongkong for the Kingdom of Hawaii, and intimated this to His Excellency the Governor of the Colony, I desire to acquaint your Lordship with the circumstances which have rendered it necessary for me to adopt this step.
On the 24th March last, I, as Consul General for Hawaii, communicated to the acting Secretary, for the information of His Excellency the Governor, the fact that the King of Hawaii purposed paying a visit to this Colony, coming via Shanghai.
